So how about it? Do you want to help out the Pit again this year?

NEW VOLUNTEERS – THERE’S MORE!
Are you lost? Are you a new parent volunteer?
Well keep reading and get excited because this is your opportunity to become part of an awesome and dynamic team of parent volunteers! That’s right – the PIT CREW – also known as Field Crew Volunteers.
What does the PIT CREW do? At football games and marching competitions, we help bring the podiums, electronics, props, and instruments on to the field for performances. It’s a really cool way to support our students. Plus, you get a unique view of the show at field level. Cool, right?! Also, after a game or marching competition ends, we ask some of our volunteers to go back to the school to help unload the trucks and return instruments and equipment to the band hall.
Some typical questions:
- Do I have to go to every game? No.
- Is it strenuous? No. You’re moving things around on wheels. There are at least two people assigned per piece of equipment.
- Can kids come down on the field to help? No.
- Is it complicated or hard to learn? No. The tasks are simple. Plus, the students know where to go and what to do.
- Should I wear something special? Yes.You will get a volunteer ID badge, but you should purchase a DHS Booster Club shirt or DHS t-shirt.
