Booster Board Positions

DHS Booster Club President

The president shall preside at all meetings of the club and of the executive committee and shall be a member ex-officio of all committees and shall perform other duties usually pertaining to the office. The president or designee shall maintain parliamentary procedure according to Robert’s Rules of Order at all regular and special meetings of the club.

1st Vice President – Fundraising

The 1st Vice President shall be project fundraising chairperson in charge of all fundraising activities and other related activities. They shall act as aide to the president and shall perform duties of the president in the absence of that officer.

2nd Vice President – Memberships & Volunteers

The 2nd Vice President shall be membership chairperson in charge of keeping and maintaining current membership records and other related activities. They shall solicit volunteers for events and activities, track and report volunteer hours, and share membership/volunteer information as applicable to committee chairs.

3rd Vice President – Communications

The 3rd Vice President shall be communication chairperson and is responsible for maintaining the club’s website, the club’s social media accounts, and press releases. They shall share responsibility with the president for distributing regular communications to all parents and the public.

DHS Booster Club Secretary

The Secretary shall keep a correct record of all meetings of the club and of the executive committee meetings and shall perform such duties as delegated by the president.

DHS Booster Club Treasurer

The Treasurer /Assistant Treasurer shall be custodian of the club funds. The club may appoint a treasurer assistant. All disbursements of these funds must be verified by written receipts to the treasurer. The treasurer shall present a financial statement at all regular meetings. The treasurer shall submit monthly reports to the band director(s) and club president, along with submitting an annual financial report to the Dulles High School principal’s office at the completion of each academic school year and other such reporting or filing as required by law. The treasurer and up to as many as four other members of the executive committee and the treasurer assistant (if one is appointed) shall have the authority to sign checks, and any two of these signatures will be required to withdraw funds. No person may sign any reimbursement check made payable to himself or to any of his personal family members. The band directors shall not have check signing authority. The treasurer should develop and maintain appropriate money handling procedures and monitor compliance with them. The treasurer is responsible to make sure an audit consistent with standard accounting practices is completed annually.
