The Color Guard program is comprised of two seasons. The fall semester is considered Color Guard and is an auxiliary line of the marching band. The team trains extensively in dance and performance to best showcase the flags and equipment that are used to accompany the music that the band is performing. The Color Guard accompanies the Band to all football games and contests around the Houston area.
The second semester is considered Winter Guard. This is when the guard as a team really becomes its own entity and gets to show off their skills in dance and flag/rifle/sabre work. Winter Guard is different in that it no longer performs with the band, but creates their own show with music, costumes, props and more! This part of the guard will travel around Houston and other parts of the state to compete within the Texas Color Guard Circuit organization.
